Have you ever thought or said things like:

"Part of me is excited, and part of me is terrified."

"I know it's time to raise my rates, but part of me doesn't believe people will pay."

"I really want this, but I'm not sure if I have the confidence to make it happen."

"I just don't know why I can't seem to do the things I know I should do."

You're brilliant and have done a ton of self-work, right?

Yet, it's as if something within you is holding you back
but you can't quite figure out what it is.

Parts work can help.

What if the problem isn't your mindset?

Mindset work is often the go-to solution for self-sabotage.

Here's the thing: self-sabotage is not real (it's self-protection),
and mindset work alone won't change it.

Changing beliefs, patterns, behaviors and habits requires two things:

#1: Understand the Protective Belief at the root of the pattern, belief, or behavior.

We say we want something, but our actions don't align or we don't take any action.

Why is that? We have a conflicting commitment:
Part of us wants to stay safe. But another part wants to change.

Looking honestly at what's REALLY going on under the behavior through the lens of compassion and curiosity changes everything.

#2: Have a somatic relationship with your
Protective Beliefs (aka parts).

If you don't involve the body, the change will not stick.

Using your body as your guide, you identify what part is stuck.

Then you can have a dialogue with that part and create a trusting partnership with it vs. having it take control when it feels unsafe.

These parts that have felt like a burden become integrated and can support you now.
Parts Work is a radically different approach.

We don't try to fix anything.

(hear me out)

Instead, we gently explore with choice and consent so every part of you is empowered.

We create a relationship with the parts that have been preventing you from creating what you want.

When we embrace this approach, things change, and our nervous system can fully accept the change.

Our "self-saboteurs" become allies.

Everything changes.

Sessions are $150 or a bundle of three for $375

"Witnessing aspects of myself from a place of unconditional love, compassion, and acceptance was a transformative experience. It allowed me to gain insights around visibility for a passion project and nurture parts of me that felt unseen, providing the nurturing presence they needed. This modality transcends the conventional and taps into a deeply powerful form of self-healing."
~Aleca

What is Possible with Parts Work Coaching Sessions?

Shift unhelpful and limiting thoughts and beliefs to ones that fuel possibilities and self-belief.

Consistency in healthier habits, following through with ideas, and having self-belief that what you want is truly possible.

Release self-doubt, shame, perfectionism, and self-judgment, and instead, embrace your inherent value and worth.

Shift patterns of how you take care of your body, such as nutrition, movement, and understanding symptoms in the body.

Make choices from a grounded and clear place instead of being triggered or reacting from fear or self-doubt.

Support your nervous system to feel safer with receiving and allowing good things to happen for you as the norm.

"Following a session about my pricing and receiving money, hesitations I had were just gone. I then proceeded to have some of my highest income months from the previous year."

Your "parts" are personas or coping methods that often overrun your true self.

When these parts repeatedly cope in specific ways, it appears as though it's "just who we are."

These parts operate from outdated and limited wisdom and coping strategies,
which tries to run the show when you want to create change.

Key Points

  • Our parts can feel like us, but they are not the wise, whole self. It’s a part that can feel like our identity, but it's not who we really are.

  • Often, these parts are younger or past versions of ourselves impacted by a challenging experience, and it’s almost as if they are stuck in time and have limited access to healthier coping methods.

  • Parts operate from an old and outdated program that keeps you "safe" but often conflicts with changes you want to make.
  • These parts are ALWAYS trying to protect and help us. When we identify these parts and build a relationship with them with curiosity and compassion, we can integrate them and not let them “drive the bus.”

  • There is nothing wrong with these parts, just as there is nothing wrong with us. However, we may view them as flawed. Even the parts themselves may have a story about being broken, flawed, less-than, etc.

What If...

  • Instead of viewing these parts as responsible for “sabotaging” us, we could see the parts of ourselves as incredible coping mechanisms designed to keep us safe.

  • Rather than judging or trying to “fix” these parts, we met all parts of ourselves with genuine curiosity and compassion.

  • We built a relationship with these parts and listened deeply to what they needed and how they wanted to support us.

Parts work is a way to address the resistant parts within you so you can move forward with your goals and not get stuck in doubt or self-sabotage.

It's a very effective way to create inner alignment so that ALL OF YOU can support your goals in the most peaceful and aligned way.

"I've had Parts Work session before from seasoned facilitators and I've never had such a visceral experience of a part being integrated than I did with you. It feels wonderful to have access to that part that I thought was lost."

FAQs

  • Is Parts Work the same as Inner Child Work or Shadow Work?
I utilize The Parts Work from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Focusing. I see Parts Work, Inner Child Work, and Shadow Work as different paths up the same mountain. While they are different, they have a common thread of accessing inner thoughts and beliefs and allowing them to be expressed in healthy ways.
  • What are your qualifications to do this?
I have completed Focusing levels 1 and 2, including the professional track, which consists of over 40 hours of training and supervised practice sessions. Additionally, I have studied Internal Family Systems (IFS) through IFS Circle online training, books, and other online programs with IFS-certified practitioners. You can read more about my qualifications and training below.
  • How many sessions will I need to see results?
What I love about Parts Work is that when you are willing, change can occur quickly. The transformation that occurs is often more subtle than we expect it to be but incredibly powerful nonetheless. It can vary depending on the issue you want to address. Most of my clients do 1-2 sessions per topic.
  • How is this different than a coaching session?
A coaching session is geared toward asking clients questions and assisting them with clarity. This session has the added bonus of using the Parts Work modality to facilitate clarity, healing, and transformation.
  • Can I get help with my business strategy, marketing plan, or copy in this session?
I don't do any business strategy, including marketing, messaging, or copy in a Parts Work coaching session. If you are looking for strategy and business coaching, inquire how to work with me in that capacity at hello@angelamjohnson.com.
  • I thought Parts Work or IFS was only available to therapists.
Coaches and therapists alike use Parts Work. The difference is as a coach, I'm not focused on helping you heal trauma or process experiences that created the trauma. I focus on your healthy self and guide you to gain clarity and move forward toward your goals. As a trauma-informed coach, I know how to expertly guide you to feel safe in your nervous system so you can seek the appropriate level of support.

"You hold such a sacred and safe space. I've experienced Parts Work with others, and you have a gift of knowing exactly where to go and what questions to ask so I get to the root of what's going on. I don't know how you do it."
